Approaches

My work is an expression of my training in Psychodrama, Reich, Core Energetics, EMDR and especially it’s a profound expression of my personal and human development.

These are some references on the studies that define me as a therapist and that guide my view and my practice within clinical psychology.

You don't have to choose a specific approach you want to work with within your therapeutic process. You just need to tell me the reason why you seek psychotherapy, and I will guide you, using the most appropriate approaches for each moment within your therapeutic process.

It is with the understanding that I am serving life, that I seek to positively interfere in the journey of those I work with.

Therapeutic Psychodrama

Psychodrama is a psychotherapeutic approach created by Jacob Levi Moreno and was widely spread in the USA and Brazil. Moreno developed his theory based on theater techniques and was a pioneer in therapeutic work with groups. The psychotherapeutic work in psychodrama consists of creating channels of spontaneous creativity, helping people to recover authenticity, freedom, originality, and the ability to act appropriately and in a timely manner in different life situations.

Psychodrama invites us to explore the different roles we play throughout our lives, in our day-to-day lives. Through action, we can give new meaning to our history and recognize ourselves as creative beings. We broaden our self-perception, giving us the opportunity to place ourselves on the stage of life with autonomy and responsibility.

Reichian Body Therapy

Reichian Therapy is a psychotherapeutic process that analyzes the patient's history and behavior, seeking to make his unconscious conflicts conscious through verbal work, combined with body work. The human body contains each individual history and through it we can rescue the deepest emotions. In this way, Reichian body therapy favors the development of human consciousness from the understanding of movement of human energy and life.

Dr. Dimas Calegari was a psychiatric doctor, a reference in the studies of Wilhelm Reich's work in Brazil. I was his student in the 2007 training course and assistant in subsequent years.

Core Energetics

Core energetics was created by John Pierrakos, his work was developed based on the studies of Wilhelm Reich and inspired therapeutic techniques that treat the emotional, physical, and energetic side of the human being. Core Energetics emphasizes the evolutionary process individuals through the practice of body psychotherapy.

It promotes a profound and effective change in our limiting beliefs that prevent us from being whole and happy.

EMDR

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing is a new form of psychotherapy, developed in the USA in the late 1980s by Dr. Francine Shapiro. It aims to address and treat traumatic and upsetting experiences that contribute to problems in everyday life. The human brain naturally processes painful experiences so that we have adaptive tools to deal with similar circumstances in the future.

However, sometimes there is a blockage in the brain's neurological system, and this adaptive processing is interrupted. EMDR therapy allows stimulation of the cerebral hemispheres, where painful memories are stored, so that traumatic memories can be reprocessed by the brain and thus stored in a more adaptive way, bringing relief from dysfunctional symptoms.

The effectiveness of EMDR is recognized by the World Health Organization

It has been proven through more than 200 studies published internationally in journals, including the American Psychiatric Association (USA), the Royal College of Psychiatrists (UK), and the Administration of Veterans (USA). The International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies considers it an effective treatment for trauma and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
